5 Natural antibiotic materials can be found around us

Antibiotics have antibacterial properties that can be used to kill or inhibit bacterial growth. Antibiotics are commonly found in drug form. However, actually some natural ingredients around us have these antibiotic properties. What are the natural antibiotic ingredients?

1. Honey

Honey

Honey is the oldest natural antibiotic ever found. Since ancient times, Egyptians often use honey as a natural antibiotic and skin protector. Honey contains hydrogen peroxide which can act as a component of antibacterial substances.

In addition, honey has a low pH level so it can function to attract water vapor from bacteria, so the bacteria are dehydrated and will die. To use honey as an antibiotic, apply it directly to the infected area of the body. Original honey can help kill bacteria and help the healing process.

If the infection is present in the body part, we can drink the honey to help the healing process. We can swallow it directly or mixed in a cup of warm tea. However, honey should not be given to infants less than a year because honey may contain bacteria that can produce toxins in the baby's intestines. This can cause infant botulism.

Both of these oils were tested on more than 120 bacterial strains. Some of the bacteria tested were Staphylococus, Escherichia, and Enterococcus.

The researchers found that thyme oil is more effective in killing bacteria than lavender essential oils. This thyme oil is used only for external use. Before applied to skin inflamed and irritated, thyme oil should be dissolved first. Dissolve thyme oil into coconut oil or olive oil.
