Benefits of Antioxidants from Tea and Coffee

The benefits of antioxidants for health are preventing damage to body cells due to free radicals and preventing certain diseases. Apart from fruits and vegetables, antioxidants can also be obtained from coffee and tea. Both of these drinks even contain high levels of antioxidants.

Free radicals that come from exposure to cigarette smoke and vehicle fumes, sunlight, and toxic chemicals can damage the structure of DNA in cells and body tissues can even increase the risk of certain diseases, such as cancer and heart disease.

The danger of free radicals can be counteracted with antioxidants. Some types of foods and beverages are known to have high antioxidant content, including tea and coffee. This adds to the fame of the two types of drinks that have worldwide.

Although the benefits of antioxidants can be obtained from tea and coffee, consuming too many of these drinks can cause some side effects, such as insomnia, anxiety, heart palpitations, fatigue, and frequent urination. In addition, it is also recommended to consume tea and coffee without excessive sugar.
