4. Water content

High water content (above 19%) will cause fermentation which can affect the quality of honey.

5. Honey color

6. The presence or absence of pollen

Without pollen, honey is just a sweetening solution consisting of glucose and fructose. As a sweetener, our body can absorb honey well, but it does not have a variety of vitamins and minerals needed by the body.

Tips for Increasing Fertility

Regardless of whether the use of honey products can fertilize the womb, you and your partner can take simple steps that can increase fertility, so that the chances of pregnancy are greater. These steps include:

  • Increase the intake of fertile foods, fruits and vegetables that contain antioxidants such as vitamins C, E, beta-carotene, folate, and zinc. Antioxidants can help fight free radicals that damage sperm and egg cells.
  • Increase calorie intake at breakfast and limit calorie intake at night. This can improve fertility.
  • Limit foods that are too sweet. If you like sweet foods or drinks, choose a natural sweetener like honey.
  • Avoid foods that contain lots of trans fat and consume foods that are rich in healthy fats, such as extra virgin olive oil.
  • Limit carbohydrate intake and increase high fiber intake. This can improve hormone levels that support fertility, especially in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
  • Limit your intake of animal protein and replace it with vegetable protein, such as whole nuts and seeds. Also consume low-fat dairy products.
  • Routinely exercise and consume multivitamins.
