Causes bloody anus and how to overcome it

Bloody anus can make the sufferer feel afraid. This condition is usually noticed when looking at blood-filled stools, or when there are blood stains attached to tissues, pants, and toilet after defecation.

The blood that appears on the bloody anus is usually bright red, but sometimes it can also be darker red, depending on the underlying cause.

Various Causes of Dengue Anus

Bloody anus does not always signify a serious problem and often can still be handled at home. However, this does not mean that this condition can be taken lightly. Therefore, a doctor's examination is important if the bleeding from the anus occurs continuously or accompanied by other symptoms.

In general, bloody anus can be caused by several conditions, such as:

Hemorrhoids, also known medically as hemorrhoids, occur when blood vessels around the anus or rectum dilate. In addition to bloody anus, this condition can also be characterized by pain, itching, and swelling around the anus.

Inflammatory bowel disease

Inflammatory bowel disease is a long-term disease that is generally characterized by symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, fatigue, pain or cramps around the abdomen, decreased body weight, or decreased appetite.

Diverticulitis is an inflammation that occurs in the gastrointestinal tract, precisely in the diverticula, the sacs that form along the gastrointestinal tract, especially in the large intestine. Diverticulitis is commonly experienced by people aged 40 years and over with symptoms of abdominal pain, defecation with mucus, constipation, diarrhea, and stomach feel bloated.

Abscess anus

This condition is characterized by pain around the anus due to an infection that occurs in the small glands in the anal wall. In addition, patients with anus abscess may experience constipation, irritation of the skin around the anus, until the discharge of pus from the anus.

Ani fissure

An ani fissure is a wound in the skin tissue around the anus. This condition can be caused by friction with hard or large stools. Usually this condition is characterized by itching, sore, or pus out of the anus.

In addition to some of the above conditions, bloody anus can also be caused by anal cancer, colon cancer, colon polyps, Crohn's disease, diarrhea, or due to the effects of radiation therapy on the treatment of certain diseases.

How to Overcome Dengue Anus

If you find blood spots on the tissue after your bowel movement, you are encouraged to do the following:

  • Clean the anus with clean water.
  • Avoid sitting on the toilet for too long.
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
  • Expand the consumption of fibrous foods.
  • Avoid straining too hard during bowel movements.
  • If necessary, compress the anal area with ice cubes to reduce the pain.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages because it can aggravate the condition experienced.

If bloody anus problems continue to occur, it is advisable to consult a physician for an examination, so that treatment can be given according to the cause.

You may be given an ointment, suppository medication inserted in the anus, a medication or even recommended for surgery. Check your doctor immediately if the bloody anus is accompanied by dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, difficulty urinating, blurry vision, or pale face. The sooner it is handled, the risk of complications will be less.
