Do not Underestimate the Back of the Headache, Recognize the Cause!

Some of you who have felt back headaches certainly don't want to feel it again. When the headache attacks, feeling heavy, rheumatic pain, and pain usually come together. These various aches usually radiate to the nape of the neck.

This type of headache is often interpreted as a complaint that arises from high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Though the cause is not always related to these two things.

Some causes of back headaches

Reported by WebMD, one of the causes that often sufferers do not realize is a bad posture. The habit of standing or sitting bent can actually trigger a back headache. In addition to a posture that is not upright, some types of headaches can also be the cause.

Headache conditions that occur in the back of the head are caused by various factors, such as disorders of the neck muscles, inflammation of blood vessels to bleeding in the brain.

The following are some of the causes of back headaches.

Tension-type headache

This condition is a headache with symptoms of dull pain around the head. Usually, the back of the head will also experience tremendous pain. This headache is usually experienced by adults and can be caused by various causes such as light, stress, and dehydration.

Giant cell arteritis

This health disorder is also known as blood vessel inflammation, which usually involves the blood vessels of the occipital region located on the back of the head. These blood vessel disorders can attack almost all blood vessels in the body such as blood vessels in the head, eyes, and extremities.

Neck muscle spasm

Disorders of the muscles and bones in the neck can cause headaches. This is rarely understood by society. One of the neck disorders that often cause headaches is the spasm of the neck muscles. Neck injury or head position errors for a long time, are usually prone to causing back headaches.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage

Bleeding conditions in the brain can also trigger back headaches. Headaches experienced by sufferers usually occur suddenly. The likelihood of subarachnoid hemorrhage especially occurs in someone who has just had a head injury. Usually, a head CT scan is needed to confirm the diagnosis of bleeding.

Another condition causes back headaches

In addition to the conditions described above, there are also a number of conditions that cause a person to experience a back headache.

Migraine attacks can be one of the causes. In general, migraines are marked by the throbbing of the back of the head. Patients can even experience nausea and vomiting.

If you often experience these conditions, you can reduce the consumption of foods high in Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and foods high in salt. This method can reduce migraine complaints, so as to minimize the incidence of back headaches.

In addition to migraines, the cause of this type of headache is sex and excessive exercise. Although both are classified as activities that can nourish the body, excessive sexual activity and exercise can actually trigger the narrowing of the arteries. This condition can trigger a headache in the back.

In addition, there are also a number of other factors that are prone to trigger back headaches, such as pain on the right side of the back of the head and brain tumors.

Beware of Serious Conditions

Most of the back headaches that occur do not really need to worry. However, there are some symptoms that require further examination of a doctor or other medical expert. Be aware of headaches that occur, if:
