In particular, the autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet is believed to help restore the immune system and problematic intestinal conditions. Where these problems are the ones that cause inflammation in the body due to autoimmune diseases.

It is important to understand, that people who do this diet can not be haphazard. If you want optimal results, it is recommended that you take the AIP diet for several weeks regularly. Next, you will be slowly given back a variety of foods that were previously avoided.

If you find that you have a bad reaction, it means you are not advised to eat the food for a long time.

Healthy food for autoimmune sufferers

Determining healthy and safe food for autoimmune sufferers depends on the type of autoimmune disease. For example, if you suffer from celiac disease, you are advised to eat foods that are free of gluten.

Gluten is a protein content found in foods, especially in wheat, rye, barley, and other processed foods, such as bread and pizza.

When people with celiac eat gluten-containing foods, their immune system will attack the small intestine.

Then, if you are diagnosed with lupus, psoriasis, and IBD, the autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet may be the most appropriate choice for you.

If you are running the AIP diet program, foods that can be consumed are fresh meat and fish (directly from nature not processed), sweet potatoes, milk, coconut water, avocados, tea, coconut oil, and apple vinegar.

If you want to eat vegetables, avoid vegetables from the nightshades or Solanaceae family which can worsen the condition of the disease. For example, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and potatoes. Fruits may be consumed as long as the amount is not too much.

Fermented foods from dairy products should also be avoided. As a substitute, you can choose kombucha, kefir, or kimchi.

Healthy lifestyle autoimmune sufferers

In addition to eating foods that are nutritious and nutritionally balanced, actively engaging in physical activities such as sports is also important. Exercise can help reduce fatigue or pain in the long term due to the autoimmune disease that you are suffering from.

Besides, exercise can also help calm the mind, which can prevent you from stress due to illness. Even so, sports that are carried out by autoimmune sufferers also can't be done too heavy.

Start with sports that make the heart happy and calm, like yoga and meditation. Or if you like dancing, you can exercise Zumba or take an aerobics class. Enjoyable exercise can produce endorphins which later will play a good role in the body's immune system which can maintain a balanced immunity.

However, you should still consult your doctor about what exercise you want to do. The doctor will consider what exercise is safe according to your condition.
