How to prevent and overcome tired eyes

Eyes tired often cause discomfort and can interfere with daily activities, especially if this condition occurs during activities such as study, work, or when driving a vehicle. Tired eyes are generally not a serious problem and can disappear by itself after you rest.

Tired eyes are described as eye disorders caused by the use of the eyes for long periods of time without rest.

Tired eye conditions can be caused by several factors, including:

  • Drive the vehicle with long distances.
  • Staring at a computer screen or gadget for a long time.
  • Too long reading.
  • Has an eye refractive disorder.
  • Continuous viewing in low light room.
  • Exposure to light that is too bright or dazzling.

 

What Are Tired Eyes Symptoms?




Tired eyes can be identified with some of the most common symptoms, including:

  • Eyes are painful, sore or itchy.
  • Eyes watery or dry.
  • Blurred or shaded view.
  • Eyes are more sensitive to light.

 

The symptoms of tired eyes can also spread to other body parts, such as pain in the shoulders, neck, back, and headache. Some of these symptoms will be more felt if you lack sleep. Therefore, adequate sleep is very important for the eyes. During sleep, the eyes will also rest and get the nutrients for tissue repair, so tired eyes can be overcome. Lack of sleep is the same as reducing or interfering with the eye break process.

How To Prevent Eyes Tired

Tired eyes are closely related to one's work. Some of the things below can be done to prevent it.

Adjust the lighting and position of the computer screen

Adjusting computer screen lighting can be done with the help of filters. When on the move with a computer, make sure to keep a safe distance between the screen and the eyes, which is about 50-60 For the ideal eye distance and computer screen, then use a seat that can be positioned.

Pay attention to room lighting

Rest periodically for 20 seconds

When operating a computer or reading, you are encouraged to occasionally take a break from the activity. Rest every 20 minutes, then rest your eyes for at least 20 seconds.

Tired eyes can also be prevented with eye care, including compressing the eyes with a cloth that has been soaked in warm water, or use eye drops to refresh the eye when it starts to feel dry eyes.

 

Try The Following to Treat Tired Eyes

To overcome tired eyes, you can try a few steps below.

  • When reading is too tiring, blinking often. If necessary, switch for a moment from the reading so the eye can rest. Close your eyes and massage the temples for a few minutes to ease the tired eyes. Do not forget to adjust the ideal lighting for the eyes.
  • When the computer screen has tired eyes, increase screen resolution and reduce room lighting. Then set the distance, contrast, and font size. Shifting the view from the computer screen for a while can also help reduce eye fatigue.
  • Standing and stretching your hands, legs, shoulders, and back can help reduce body fatigue.
  • If your eyes feel dry and blinking the eye does not help, drip eye drops can be used. You can also close your eyes and then compress it with a washcloth that has been soaked in warm water.
  • Some people need to wear glasses when reading or using a computer to cope with tired eyes.
  • Natural fish oil products with omega-3 and bilberry acids are believed to reduce tired eye symptoms. However, it still needs further research.

 

Just like the rest of the body, the eye also needs rest. Make sure you always give a pause in the middle of the activity, so that the eyes can rest. If you feel the symptoms of tired eyes and never get better, do not hesitate to consult a doctor.
