Formation of the immune system of the Little One

There is a difference in the little one who is born spontaneously and has a cesarean section. In spontaneously born, the digestive system is exposed to the Mother's physiological flora when passing through the birth path. Whereas in those born through cesarean section, the digestive system is not physiological - unless given breast milk.

While the Little One who was born by cesarean section and not given breast milk will have different bacterial flora in his digestive system. As a result, the Little One has deficiencies in the development of his immune system, especially those related to allergies.




The little one will be more susceptible to the antigens inhaled and suffer from asthma than those born spontaneously. The risk will be much higher if the parents also experience allergies.

The little immune system that is still weak causes it to easily get infected and experience pain more often. While the little one whose immune system has developed well, the risk of infection is much lower.

Exposure to antigens with the same structure over and over will cause the disease not to form, one example is chickenpox. Unlike the case with antigens whose structures can be different like influenza viruses. A child can experience influenza infection many times.

Foods that increase the body's immune system

Fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are certainly very good for health. Choose those that are rich in vitamin C to boost the body's immune system, especially in helping ward off fever and flu. Some examples of fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C are citrus, strawberries, peppers, and broccoli.

Lean meat

Mothers may not know that this food can improve the system that fights bodily diseases. First, lean meat has a protein that is important for maintaining strength. Second, lean meat also contains zinc which can help white blood cells fight infection.

Yogurt

Yogurt contains many probiotics, which are good germs that are very beneficial in maintaining the body's digestive system. These germs also play an important role in helping the body fight disease.

A study found that the little one who ate yogurt had a 19 percent lower risk of fever, ear infections, and sore throat.

Kefir

Drinks made from kefir grains also contain probiotics. That is why this drink can also boost the immune system of the Little One.

Walnuts

Walnuts contain omega 3 fatty acids which have many benefits for the body. One of them is to help the body fight disease.

A study proves that omega 3 can reduce the rate of respiratory infections in the Little One. Walnuts can be consumed directly or mixed with other cereals and snacks.

Milk

To further enhance support for the immune system of the Little One, Mother can also provide additional intake in the form of milk.

Other Ways to Improve the Child's Immune System

In addition to food and drinks above the following things can also be applied to the little one.

1. Monitor sleep time

Studies show adults who lack sleep will easily get sick because their immune systems fail to fight viruses, bacteria, or cancer cells.

This also applies to children. When babies, the time needed to sleep is 18 hours, then toddlers need 12 to 13 hours, and preschoolers need about 10 hours a day to sleep. If the child does not have time to take a nap, then try to go to bed early.

2. Maintain personal hygiene and the surrounding environment

In addition to maintaining the cleanliness of the environment around the child, you must also monitor the cleanliness of the child's body. For example, always routinely clean hands with wet tissue or with water. Because children often put their hands in their mouths. 4. Keep away from cigarette smoke and vehicles

Cigarette smoke and vehicle fumes can irritate the child's respiratory organs. If your partner is a smoker, you should smoke outside the home or stop smoking better, this avoids children being exposed to cigarette smoke directly. Use a mask on your child if traveling out to reduce exposure to air pollution.

5. Routinely check the child's health to the doctor

Go to the doctor not only when the child is sick, but you also need to check the child's body health regularly. This is done to check the possibility of the occurrence of a disease whose symptoms are often underestimated.

When a child is sick, you also cannot force a doctor to give antibiotics or do an imaging test (CT Scan or X-ray). Because diseases that often occur in children are often caused by viruses. When given antibiotics, certain bacteria actually become resistant to the drug.
