Papaya, the Natural Skin Whitening

Some skin care products such as face creams and body creams use papaya as one of its ingredients. Papaya is thought to be good for natural skin whitening because it contains nutrients in it.

Papaya contains vitamin C and vitamin A which is good for the skin. The higher content of vitamin C compared to oranges makes papaya thought to be a natural skin whitener. Vitamin C contained in a medium size papaya weighing 150 grams is 88.3 milligrams, equivalent to 157% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C, while in oranges it is only about 69.7 milligrams. In fact, one large papaya can contain 235 mg of vitamin C, more than the amount you need in a day.

Vitamin C which is considered natural skin whitener can help in the process of depigmentation or eliminate skin pigmentation. This is because vitamin C can reduce the formation of melanin. But because vitamin C is an unstable compound, it is often combined with other depigmentation agents, such as soybeans and licorice root plants.

In addition, the content of vitamin C can also help in overcoming skin aging. A study showed that women who consumed more vitamin C, had fewer wrinkles, not dry skin, and experienced less aging in the skin. This could be because the benefits of vitamin C as an antioxidant that can fight free radicals and help the formation of collagen.

Besides vitamin C, papaya also contains vitamin A which is good for dealing with wrinkles on the face, acne, and other skin problems, including skin damage due to sun exposure.

Papaya for Brighter Skin

  • Mix ¼ cup of cooked papaya, ¼ cup of honey, 2 teaspoons of oatmeal, ¼ cup of chocolate, and 2 teaspoons of milk until smooth. Apply the mask to your face and let stand for 10 minutes. Finally, wash your face with warm water until clean.

Although papaya contains a lot of vitamin C and is believed to be good for the skin, more research needs to be done to ensure that papaya is a natural and effective skin whitening.
