Make the air at home healthier

If you often experience health problems at home - but recover when you leave home - immediately fix the air quality in your home. Here are some ways you can do:

1. Stay away from dangerous cleaning products

Some home cleaning products have harsh chemicals that can cause respiratory problems or trigger an attack of allergies or asthma. Read the packaging label carefully and stay away from labels that have volatile organic compounds (VOCs), fragrances, or flammable substances. You can make your own cleanser with soap and water, vinegar or baking soda.

2. Ornamental plants

This can be more than beautiful to look at, especially if your house is not well-ventilated. In addition to removing carbon dioxide and increasing oxygen levels, some plants can even help clear the air from chemical vapors.

3. Clean the AC filter

If your air conditioner filter is dirty, the air quality at home can be very bad. Be diligent in cleaning it to prevent dirty air from entering. If you are not diligent in cleaning it, a pile of dust and mold can occur.

Wash the AC filter at least every 3 months. If you have asthma or allergies, you need to clean it once a month.

4. Clean the bathroom regularly

Mushrooms are very likely to grow in the bathroom. The danger is that the fungus can cause allergic symptoms, such as coughing or sneezing, or other respiratory problems.

Mushrooms like moist areas. So keep the bathroom clean. Don't hang wet towels in the bathroom because of the bacteria like them. If you see mold in a bath or other area, you may need to clean it more often to prevent you from getting sick.

5. Do not carelessly choose air freshener

Even a pleasant smell can cause problems. Some air freshener has a volatile organic compound or VOC in it which can interfere with the nose and throat. Other aerosol sprays, including some health and beauty products, also contain VOC.

6. Make sure fruits and vegetables are always fresh

If you store fruit and vegetables too long, they can grow mushrooms. Frequently check stored fruits and vegetables, and dispose of if they are moldy or slimy. To keep it fresh, don't wash it before you store it, but wash it before you eat it.

7. Be careful with roaches

These insects can cause problems even after they die. When they die, their bodies break down into small pieces that can pollute the air. The same thing can happen with their shit. Roaches can enter sheets, pillows and cloth, and trigger asthma or allergic attacks.

8. Wash sheets and carpets regularly

Wash sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and carpets once a week to help remove dust, mold, mites, and other things that can affect your breathing.

The expression of a home sweet home can actually be realized if the cleanliness of the air is maintained. Make sure your house has healthy air so that all family members can be comfortable and healthy in staying inside. The methods above can help you make it happen.

9. Make sure the house is free of rubbish

The rest of the food, toilet paper, and food wrappers that accumulate in the trash should be diligent in throwing away. Do not let the garbage be stored for long. Decaying foods can cause unpleasant odors and interfere with the relief of your breath.
