Various ways to get rid of cysts You need to know

Cysts are bags of fluid, gas, or semisolid material that can appear on any part of the body. Including appearing on the skin, face, even organs in the body such as the kidneys, uterus, or brain. How to remove cysts varies depending on the type, severity, and location.

There are thousands of types of cysts known in medicine. Most cysts are benign, although some have the potential to become malignant. Cysts generally appear in the form of lumps, both above and below the skin. Unlike other diseases, cysts often appear without causing symptoms and unknown causes.

Causes of Cysts

The cause of cyst disease depends on the type of cyst itself. Call it a follicular cyst, this cyst is caused by swelling of the follicle because it cannot release the egg. Usually follicular cysts will disappear on their own within a few weeks.

In general, several factors that increase the risk of cyst formation are:

  • An imbalance in the levels of estrogen and endogenous hormones
  • Often consume foods that contain additives
  • Eating excessive fatty foods
  • Unhealthy environmental factors
  • Exposure to air pollution (such as dust, vehicle smoke and factory smoke)

Symptoms of Cysts

Basically, symptoms of cyst disease depend on the affected organ. Generally the symptoms that appear tend to be minimal. Some people don't even feel anything until the cyst cell enlarges and breaks. However, there are several characteristics that are often felt by cysts (both uterine cysts, ovaries, endometrium, and other cysts that are around the abdominal and vaginal cavities) namely:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Pain in the pelvis
  • Irregular menstruation cycle
  • It feels painful and like there is pressure on the back area
  • Difficult to urinate
  • Difficult bowel movements
  • Pain when having sex
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Bloated
  • Decreased appetite

If the cyst attacks the brain's organs, the symptoms that arise are:

  • Often feeling dizzy and painful in the head
  • Having vision problems
  • Easy to feel sleepy
  • Occasional symptoms of seizures occur
  • Nausea and vomiting

As for pulmonary cysts, the signs are:

  • Out of breath
  • Often experience visual disturbances
  • Cough that doesn't heal
  • Fever
  • A rash appears on the skin
  • There is a lump in the armpit
  • Decreased appetite
  • Feel tired quickly
  • An enlarged liver and spleen

How to get rid of cysts in the hospital

We recommend that you consult a doctor, if you find a suspicious lump in your body, because it might be a cyst. The doctor will do an examination to make sure the cyst is dangerous or not. Although cysts are generally not dangerous and can disappear on their own, consult a doctor to get the recommended treatment.

If it is not dangerous, the doctor will not perform special treatment for the cyst. However, if over time the cyst continues to grow, feels pain, rupture, or causes discomfort, contact the doctor as soon as possible so that you can get the best treatment.

Before dealing with a cyst in the patient's body, the doctor will consider several factors, including the type of cyst that appears, the location of the cyst, the infection of the cyst and the side effects caused by the cyst.

There are several ways to eliminate cysts that are commonly done, among others by:

Antibiotic medicine

The doctor will advise the patient to take antibiotics if the cyst that appears has an infection. Antibiotics are also given if there are indications that the patient has an infectious sexual infection.

Corticosteroid drugs

Usually the doctor will inject corticosteroid drugs into the area. The purpose of this procedure is to reduce swelling or inflammation of the cyst.

Soak with the sitz bath method

This is a medical procedure by bathing in a tub of warm water three to four times a day. The method often used to treat bartolin cysts can make the cyst shrink and disappear.

This method is done with the aim of removing fluid from the cyst. The doctor will use a tool in the form of a needle inserted into the cyst and then suck the cyst fluid into the syringe tube. This method is one of them used to treat ganglion cysts.

Undergo surgery

Surgery is the last choice for doctors in dealing with cysts. Surgery can be done for small surgery or major surgery, especially if the cyst is in an organ that is difficult to reach.

Other types of cyst treatment

In addition to the above treatments, there are still many ways to eliminate cysts that can be done. For example with laser light therapy, use of birth control pills, immobilization therapy, and so forth. The type of treatment performed by doctors to patients may vary because it is adjusted to each condition.

In addition to treatment at the hospital, you can also try to remove cysts that are under the skin's surface independently at home by compressing them using warm water. This method can help reduce fluid inside the cyst. Don't try to squeeze or break a cyst, because it can cause infection.

As long as it does not cause dangerous symptoms, there is no need to worry and be confused about how to eliminate cysts. But, you should remain alert to all the possibilities that can occur, even after the cyst is treated by a doctor. If there is a potential for malignancy, the doctor will ask the patient to continue routine consultation after treatment, so that the cyst can disappear completely.
